Autauga Academy was established in 1969 and is a fully accredited private school by the Alabama Independent School Association (AISA). The Academy operates under the direction of Headmaster Jeremy Carter, the Autauga County Private School Foundation and its twelve member Board of Directors.

Currently, the Academy employs a full-time headmaster, 24 faculty and staff with 2 curriculum coordinators, 1 librarian and 6 support personnel. All faculty members are fully qualified, holding bachelor's, masters, or doctorate degrees. Each member of the faculty is dedicated to preparing students to meet the challenges of higher education, citizenship and leadership. Pupil-teacher ratios are limited to ensure individual attention and a productive learning environment.
